Saturday's Musician's Showcase at Walden's Coffeehouse (02/17/07) was pretty interesting. Hallie Ross reminded us what we'd been missing during her absence (two years is too long!), and also surprised everyone with the announcement of her engagement to be married. I know she's serious because (a) I met her fiancé, and (b) I saw the ROCK he put on her hand. WhooooooooooWHEEEEEEE -- He's a keeper!
Things moved on in a mellow rock mood with Live It Up Jones, another group of friends that haven't been around as often as we'd like . But hey, I've got them on the calendar for April 14th, which is a date you won't want to miss!
We of Burning Peace (well, 3/4 of the band, anyway) did our level-best to blow out the cobwebs and prove that a 3 month hiatus isn't enough to make us forget how to play. Honestly, I'd have to say that we had some really good moments, making us and the crowd feel happy. Then there were the not-so-swift moments, like clipping out the powered mixer three times (poor thing really needs a trip to the shop after 5 years of solid use!), not to mention Yours Truly completely trashing a cover that I've played about, oh, a thousand times over the past 20 years. I mean, what the hell, man?! ANYHOO, I promise to practice up for our next show, the Burning Peace 5th Anniversary party on March 31st!
