It's time for our annual summer trek to Carson City! That's right, Burning Peace will be on deck in the courtyard at Comma Coffee this Saturday from 8pm 'til 10pm. That's TOMORROW! We'll have the four piece line-up including Cap's new digital drumkit, so you don't want to miss this show! 312 So. Carson Street, Carson City, Nevada (right across the street from the legislature building). (775) 883-2662 www.commacoffee.com

And now to recap Burning Peace events since the last time we sent a news update:

On May 13th we shared the Musician's Showcase bill at Walden's Coffeehouse with Big Tsunami (Hawaiian-inspired music accompanied by their own pair of hula dancers) and everyone's favorite folkster Lenny Walker with his 6 & 12 string guitars as well as a couple tunes on finger-picked autoharp.

The evening was capped with a full-power set by Burning Peace, including Lenny Supera's return to the electric guitar. YOWZA! We needed to shake out the cobwebs in prep for Sunday's show at Wingfield Park, and Saturday's show definitely shook something out. Fun night!

May 14, 2006 we played the Third Annual Reno River Festival on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at the Wingfield Park Amphitheater. It was our second time performing at the festival and everyone said we did a pretty good job. Thanks to everyone who cheered us on at both Walden's and the River Festival. We had a BLAST at both shows!

Next we returned to the Nevada Museum of Art for our third First Thursday show (June 1, 2006). Third first? Aaaanyway, this event is sponsored by KTHX Radio, the Great Basin Brewing Company, and various other local businesses; it's always a good time. On this occasion we played the rooftop, however, the weather gods were just this side of angry. Dark skies and plenty of wind, but thankfully NO rain. Whew! We played to a large crowd, including one memorable hippy girl who danced for us dressed in a smile and little else. Now THAT'S art! :)

This brings us to our biggest annual whoop-ti-do, the BURNING PEACE & FRIENDS DESERT JAM & CAMPOUT AT THE PIG ROCK CAVES! (June 9-10, 2006) This year was just so much freakin' fun that it's hard to sum up. Friday night we plugged in the PA for a couple hours, then moved on to the traditional campfire acoustic jam until 3:30am. Saturday we fired up the power right after breakfast and kept the music going all day & night, finally shutting down the juice around 4am and continuing on with a little acoustic action until sunrise). All in all we had a great time with several dozen friends and family. The big "twenty people on stage at once, including three simultaneous drum kits" jam was pretty damn cool. I should have some photos and perhaps even some online video posted before the weather turns cold. :) Thanks to everyone who made this year one to remember!

As if to say we can't get enough outdoor fun, three weeks after the camp-out we gathered together a whole buncha folks for TOM & JENN'S ANNUAL RED WHITE & BLUE BBQ. Burning Peace shared the stage with a variety of musicians, including sets by Lenny Walker & Rich Bybee, Second To Some, Morgan, Jessica and Zachary South, and 4 year-old Gage Bailie (who stole the show with his rendition of "We Will Rock You". Special thanks to The Kimberly Trip for travelling up from Sacramento to perform an outstanding set for us, and to Jenn & Tom for feeding us all so freakin' well. GO TRI-TIP! WooooHoooooo!
