Saturday's show at Walden's Coffeehouse was more fun than you can shake a stick at. Eric Foreman opened the night with his solo debut, cranking out a 30 minute set of great original material. Since we had some time to fill before BP hit the stage, we were treated to a special set of uniquely original songs by Izaak Wierman. We then moved into party mode in order to celebrate the 4th Anniversary of Burning Peace!

Super big thanks to everyone who came out to share the night with us. It was really great seeing so many friendly faces! Extra thanks to Kent Miura for joining us on stage. If we keep adding band members, we'll soon have to be billed as the Burning Peace Orchestra. :)

The show was lots of fun, but that wasn't the end! The "after party" included drinks, pizza & wings, singing, and general merriment all around. Great way to celebrate four years of Peace! :)

Cap and I had a good time busting out a pretty weird assortment of tunes on March 4th. We played some of my older material that hasn't been heard in a while, a couple favorite covers, and some ancient folk tunes that remind me of the days when I started with my first guitar. Thanks to Tracy and his band SALLT for singing "Happy Birthday" to me, along with everyone who came out to support 2/4 of Burning Peace. Plus Cap and I got to sing and jam with Deuce at the end of the night. Yowza!

But that's nothing compared to what's going to happen this Saturday! First, let's review:

(cue the nostalgic, yet stirring music)

Four years ago this month, Burning Peace formed as a trio; we found Joe wandering in the desert a year later and begged him to join us in our rock n' roll quest. We formed a band, worked on some material, and started playing open mics around Reno all within about a two week period, including our first Walden's appearance.

Three months later we took on hosting duties for the Walden's open mic passed to us by the Brothers Charlebois, two fine lads who began--about a year and half prior--the tradition of music at everyone's favorite coffeehouse. For three solid years we played as the featured act, jamming with lots of friends and meeting so many great musicians I've lost count. We hosted the first of many campout-jam sessions at Pig Rock only two months after the band formed, starting a tradition that we and a whole mess o' musicians look forward to all year!

Along the way we released two CD's, played the Wingfield amphitheater twice, the Nevada museum of art a couple of times (we're going back this June), various local rooms, private parties, house concerts, and even hit the road a few times to get outta town and help spread the word about Reno's growing music scene.

Last year the band as a whole took a break from the rigorous open mic and gigging schedule in order to focus on various personal projects and concerns. Yet we still found time to play a lot of great shows throughout our neck of the proverbial woods, many of which were our best ever. As we look back at four great years of Burning Peace history and look forward to all the good times yet to come, we'd like to say a huge

THANK YOU

to all our friends, family, and fans that have made us feel like rock stars every time we take the stage. We've said it before and we'll say it again: BURNING PEACE FANS ROCK! :)

So, come help us celebrate our 4th anniversary this Saturday! Eric Foreman's going to jump start the night with his first-ever solo set, and I hear his new material is SUPER cool. Hey, his girlfriend wouldn't lie, right? :) But seriously, folks, don't miss Eric's set at 7pm because you don't want to be hearing things like, "Oh, man, it's too bad you missed Eric ... he was great!" Because you will, and you'll be sad.

Then, sometime around 8ish o'clock (you know how it goes), Burning Peace is going to play its first five-piece set since the beginning of the year. Wait a minute, FIVE piece? HELL yeah! Our favorite, "I keep trying to get him to drink the kool-aid and join the band," friend Kent Miura is going to join us and add his bad-ass beat box to Cap Master Stapp's crushing congas, Mister Lenny Supera's mind-blowing arpeggios, Joe "Not Just Another Pretty Bass" Warmelink's smooth grooves, and of course my own shiny-headed, silly-grinned, lyric-forgetting self. Bring the kids, bring your neighbors, bring strangers off the street ... we want to see you at Walden's THIS SATURDAY!

Or you'll be sad.

Joe, Cap and I had a great time on Jan. 27th, thought it's never the same without Lenny. But hey, we had fun and got the job done in 30 minutes flat!

This Saturday (March 4th) Cap and I will be playing an hour set as part of the Musician's Showcase at Walden's. We're on at 7pm, followed by SALLT and Deuce. I'm jazzed about this because my birthday is on the 6th, and there's nothing I like better to celebrate my existence than to get my rock on with good friends. As long as we're talking birthdays, Joe's was in November, Cap's was January, and Lenny's was just a few days ago in February. GO US!

Speaking of annual celebrations, I'm uber-excited to announce the 4th BURNING PEACE ANNIVERSARY PARTY! Can you believe it's been FOUR freakin' years? Holy ancient history, Batman! But seriously, time flies while you're having fun, and we certainly intend to share some fun with y'all on the 25th. Our friend Eric Foreman is going to be open the night with his solo debut (ever) at 7pm, and then Burning Peace is on from 8-10pm. SEE YOU THERE!

P.S. I'm still waiting on 2005 Caves photos from folks; I can scan and return 'em if they're not digital! Remember, it's only 98 days until Pig Rock!
