It's been a while since I've posted some Burning Peace news. No time like the present!
Thanks to everyone who joined us at Walden's for the June 25th show. Super thanks to Rabia & Yalla Habibi for being so entertaining while sharing their talents & skill. Everyone's favorite dancers were followed by Burning Peace with our first Walden's set since April. We had a lot of fun, and it was nice to share the evening with so many old & new friends. Thanks for making Walden's such a nice place to "come home" to!
Speaking of homes, we had a GREAT time at Jenn & Tom's annual July house party (07/02/05). Thanks to Tom & Jenn for being such gracious and generous hosts!
Sharing the backyard stage were various local luminaries including Lenny Walker, Rich Bybee, Izaak Wierman, Jose Skinner, James Cavanaugh, and Jen Scaffidi. We had several other musicians in attendance, but after consuming so much great food most decided it was best to sit back and be (very full & happy) spectators.
My kids performed a few songs, and although I'm obviously prone to some bias, I have to say they all did a great job and definitely helped make the day a memorable event.
Burning Peace had a good time kicking out the jam, which included a piano flavored version of A New Day followed by a slightly messy but very rock n' roll cover of Hey Jude. Having listened to the recording I've decided that I'm not much of a piano player, but it's good enough for three chord rock songs that end with a backyard full of people singing, "Naaaaaaa, na na, nana na naaaaaaa, nana na naaaaaaa, heeeeeeeey Juuuuuuuuuuuuuuude!"
After all that fun, we needed to take a couple weeks off to recuperate. But now we're rested & ready to rock the house ... Walden's Coffeehouse! See you there TONIGHT!
