FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Burning Peace Announces CD Release Party

Burning Peace, a Reno-based indie rock band, has announced the completion of their new recording Burning Peace Live! – Volume 1 with a release party & concert set for 7:00pm, July 23, 2004 at Walden’s Coffeehouse, located at 3940 Mayberry Drive, Reno, Nevada. The thirteen tracks comprising the new album feature original material digitally recorded & performed before live audiences at the Nevada Museum of Art and Walden’s Coffeehouse (named in 2003 by the Reno News & Review as “ Best Place for Live Music”). www.waldenscoffeehouse.com

The band’s first CD—Over The Water—was released in June 2003 with a very successful party at Walden’s, something the band hopes to revisit on July 23 rd. As Todd South, lead singer & songwriter recently stated, “Our fans have been waiting for this live CD since we announced the recording project at the beginning of the year. Our first album was a great experience, but the sessions took a lot longer than planned and didn’t capture the energy & fun of our live shows. With Burning Peace Live! – Volume 1 we chose a more direct recording & production process not only to capture the truth of our live sound, but to keep production costs affordable and ensure a timely release for everyone who has been so supportive of our music.”

Admission to the July 23 rd show is free and open to the public. Burning Peace will perform from 7pm to 9pm, followed by two of the band’s favorite local acts: acoustic rock duo Deuce and singer-songwriter Vince Ewing. The band will be available to sign copies of Burning Peace Live! – Volume 1; the CD is being released with a suggested retail price of $5.00.

Formed in 2002, Burning Peace has hosted the extremely popular open mic night at Walden’s Coffeehouse since June 2002 (earning the Reno News & Review Reader’s Choice award for “Best Open Mic” in 2002 and 2003). After performing over 150 shows (ranging from house concerts & coffeehouses to 1,000 seat amphitheaters & special event stages) the band continues to write & perform new material and looks forward to the release of Burning Peace Live! – Volume 2 in late 2004 or early 2005.

It's been a while since I've updated the Burning Peace journal, so here's a quick report.

NEWS FLASH: Burning Peace Live! Volume 1 is DONE! We'll have copies available for sale at all future shows, including this Saturday in Carson City. The CD is also available on the Walden's Coffeehouse CD rack. MP3 samples are on the website right now ...what are you waiting for?

The BP caves jam (May 28-29) was a huge success, thanks to everyone who pitched in and made it happen. We're currently discussing the possibility of going camping again at the end of summer, depending on how much energy & enthusiasm is available. :)

Shows at Walden's have been great; thanks to everyone for supporting Burning Peace and the local music scene!

We had a GREAT time at Jenn & Tom's house party on July 3rd. WOW! Huge kudos to Lenny Walker, Monique Jade, Bluestone, James Cavanaugh & Company, Sophie Ralston, and Sean Spurling for sharing the stage with us. It was a lot like the Caves but with less dirt and better food. We've gotta do that again!

This summer's performance schedule is fairly light due to availability issues; we're all so busy this year! Remember, Burning Peace is available for private parties and appearances at a venue near you! For booking info email or call Todd South at 775- 530-2940.
